ABOUT SHREE AGARWAL SAMAJ (MADRAS)

To enlarge the activities of the Agarwal community in Madras and to service mankind in General, Shree Agarwal Samaj (Madras) was founded by a few like minded people on the 5th of August, 1995. The development, upliftment, progress, cultural and social unity of the community are the aims of this organization. Since its inception, the Samaj has been striving to maintain a family like environment among members and has been working to build strong unity.

Very soon after its formation, on the 5th of June, 1996, the Samaj moved to its own permanent premises at Varadarajulu Street with the financial help from its Patron member, Sri Ravi Prakashji Khemka , Chairman - NEPC Group of Companies. Sri Khemkaji donated the newly constructed Bhavan to the Samaj.

Today, the Samaj has around 1000 members which itself is a testament to the progress of this organization. A new flat was acquired in 2002 - next to the existing facility - again with the support of Sri Ravi Prakashji Khemka. Today, the Bhavan of the Samaj measures 3000 sq ft with five fully-furnished bedrooms, a spacious Hall and a fully equipped Kitchen. The Bhavan can accommodate 150 - 200 people. The Bhavan is available for rent at a very nominal cost.

Shree Agarwal Samaj's Youth Wing - Shree Agarwal Navyuvak Sangh (SANS) - comprises the young and the energetic of the society. This wing has been assisting the Samaj in fulfilling its goals.

Shree Agarwal Samaj has been striving hard to cultivate and promote the rich culture and heritage of Agarwal Community and appeals to people to support its efforts with full physical and financial cooperation.
